How to lay our loose fireplace tiles

We make Fireplaces from 1920s Art Deco fireplaces and classic Edwardian fireplace and mantel designs.

Our fireplace tiles can be laid using almost any proprietary cement-based floor tile adhesive.

The tiles can be laid using spacers or just butted up to each other in a more traditional way for fireplaces.

We advise wetting the backs of the tiles in a watered-down mixture of PVA glue (4 parts water to 1 part PVA ) immediately prior to laying as the tiles are very porous in their dry state.

Any grout can be used although it is advisable to check for staining on one tile first. We grout all our hearths using a simple mixture of cement (usually white cement) and water.
