Broadway Art Deco all tiled fireplace
The Broadway is essentially a symmetrical version of the Adelphi fireplace that we make.
The fireplace has a small central shelf with finger detail underneath and stepped hand glazed opening blocks.
The hearth has an integral fender which steps down about 1 inch to the base of the hearth.
The curved sides can be steepened to produce much slimmer fireplaces that suit bedrooms.
It is shown here in the C20 mottled "500" tile, with midnight blue detailing. It has an inverted ziggurat detail below a small central shelf.
This fireplace is one whose lines it is almost impossible to mar, having only one small flat surface and fits well with the "chuck out your chintz" idea that accompanied some of the more modernist designs of the 1920s and 1930s.
